Medal Selection Criteria

The selection committee is seeking nominations for candidates who are currently teaching mathematics and/or computer studies in Ontario.

Candidates’ attributes will include but are not limited to:

• proof of excellent classroom teaching
• evidence of leadership in school activities
• experience in board activities
• province-wide participation in activities
• mentorship to students and other teachers
• contribution to problem-solving initiatives
•  enrichment development. 

The committee will focus on teachers who have been teaching at least 15 years and who will return to teaching for a number of years after receiving a medal.

Typically, three medallists are chosen each year.
