Steve holds both a Bachelor and Master’s degree from
Concordia University, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Dalhousie
University, Honours/Specialist in Mathematics from the University of Western
Ontario, and Introduction to Parliamentary Procedures from the University of
Wisconsin. He has taught for well over two decades, and has been the leader of
the math departments at both Grey Highlands and John Diefenbaker Secondary
Schools. Steve has been an active participant at GVMA and OAME conferences,
marked the Euclid contest, been on the Fermat Contest Creation Committee, and
helped to validate the Fryer, Galois, and Hypatia contests. He has been working
with the OSSTF for over ten years, and has participated in and led a number of
extracurricular activities. He currently lives in Tara with his spouse Louise,
and has two grown children. He likes to drum and travel, but helping students from
all grades and levels with math is an even bigger passion.
